Team LNT Withdraw from British GT

Ginetta can today confirm a factory entry into the 2014 V de V championship following the withdrawal of Team LNT from the British GT Championship, due to a lack of clarity by the SRO over driver grading.

The announcement marks the first full season entry in a European championship for Ginetta Cars, and will see Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson and Factory Driver Mike Simpson enter the Ginetta G55 GT3 car in the GTV 1 class.

The move comes in light of a discrepancy between the recent FIA and ACO grading of a bronze/silver pairing for Team LNT and that enforced by the SRO of a silver/silver partnership. Whilst the SRO had agreed to review the situation following the opening round, Team LNT felt unable to proceed with this year’s entry with such significant uncertainty for the remainder of the season.

With an expected grid of 25 cars, and a seven round championship which encompasses races such as the 3h du Mans, 3h du Dijon and 6h du Estoril, as well as taking in circuits including Catalunya, Paul Ricard and Magny-Cours the V de V series was the obvious choice for the switch.

With the first round of the V de V championship taking place at the Circuit de Barcelona, Catalunya on March 22/23, Team LNT are now looking forward to showcasing the true potential of the Ginetta G55 GT3 car on the international stage.
