Triple Eight GT3 Z4 driver Dan Brown writes for Racing.GT about his experiences at the “home of motorsport”.
Silverstone was a great weekend for myself, Steve Tandy and the Triple Eight team. The BMW Z4 was strong all weekend through practice and qualifying and we were delighted to finish on the podium in the three hour race and score some very solid points and move ourselves up in the championship. The strategy used by the team was fantastic and we captalised on all the safety car periods to leave us in the top five for the final hour of the race and some misfortune for a couple of other cars put us up on to the podium.
I am really looking forward to Snetterton. It is one of my favourite circuits in the UK and the last time I was there in British GT I finished first and second in the two races and got the lap record – which still stands because the circuit format was then changed to the current one. The Z4 should be well suited to this circuit, but we won’t find out for definite until the end of the first practice.
