Aaron Scott: Pushing Hard at Rockingham

Aaron Scott: Pushing Hard at Rockingham

We had a pretty decent weekend for the first British GT round at Oulton Park scoring points in race 1 and just losing out on some points in race 2. With such a big grid it was always going to be interesting to see where we were at on pace and we know what we need to aim for as we move ahead into the Rockingham race meeting. Certainly the BOP was tough at Oulton for the new Ferrari but it looks better for Rockingham so I hope we can be competitive. John and I are getting on really well with our new team, AF Corse, as you would expect they are a great team.

It’s been a really hectic few weeks for me since Oulton Park, I raced in the first Group C meeting of the year in Barcelona, driving a lovely Spice C2 car for the Celtic Speed team. That went well for me with a 3rd and 2nd place finish overall and a win in the C2 category and I was happy to set the outright fastest lap in the first of the races beating the big Mercedes C11! Group C is a lovely environment and I really enjoyed racing in Barcelona, I also drove a ’76 F1 car there in testing and that was a lot of fun. If I win the lottery !!

Last weekend John raced in the GT Cup Championship and he had a good run of races there finishing 2nd in race 1 and then scoring 2 x 3rd place finishing in the following races. He is really motivated and driving well right now, Rockingham is sure to be very competitive with another big grid of good teams and drivers. We will push hard to improve on our performance at Oulton Park and it would be nice to score some decent points this weekend.
